  • 27 FEBRUARY: Chinese New Year Parade
    Venue: San Francisco (Union Square)
    Time: after 5 PM
    Cost: Free
As per my information, the Chinese New Year parade (chinese new year was couple of weeks back - but the traditional annual parade is held couple of weeks after the new year annually) will be held in San Francisco on Feb 27 and will be starting after 5 PM or so. I usually go with my family to the Union Square to watch the many different colorful floats, dancers, exhibits that are show-cased on this day as part of the parade: This is one of the must see annual events of San Francisco - I would say.

Holi is one of the best Indian Festivals enjoyed by almost all religions and Americans, Asians, everyone alike in US. This year this festival fall this Saturday on Feb 27 and will be celebrated in Sunyvale Hindu Temple as per the following agenda (as per the information I received):
    11 am - 1:30 pm: Colors
    1:30 pm - 2:30 pm: Lunch
The festival is celebrated by applying herbal natural colored powder to other people's faces, and clothes (kind of greeting on this festival). Later everyone enjoys dancing to the latest indian song numbers of the beats of the traditional indian drum music. Its all gonna be happenning on the Feb 27 at the above avenue.
If you can't make it to this event - you will have perhaps two more chances to celebrate it in March (check my posts for upcoming events in March for further details on this).
