Recent Kids Activities - 2009 November

Hi All, Just to let you know what kind of events you might have missed by not referring to my blog earlier, here is a variety of things that happenned in the last few weeks which we enjoyed with our son (at some of these events, we were accompanied by some of our friends, but as currently I do not have permission from any one of them to include references to their names, so I will better omit such information for now - but pls. leave me a comment if you are OK for me to include your/your kids names in this blog or later posts to this blog):

(Special month - Aakarsh's Grand-Dad's Birthday & Thanks-Giving)

• 05: Lowe's Build & Grow Clinic: Snowman Photo Frame
  
  Because of our cricket game, I had picked up the kit from the San Jose Lowe's and Aakarsh & Bhavna completed it later on Sunday night (I was busy with work) - in the end I helped fix the frame sleeves and the dangling arms.
  




• 16: Aakarsh's Grand-Dad (Dadu's) B'Day Celebration

  Aakarsh's Dadu's Birthday comes multiple times every year because he was born on Diwali, the year he was born, Diwali came on Nov 13, but when Dadu's Dad's secretary took Dadu for admission to the school (Dadu's dad was a rich and busy guy, so asked his secretary to take his son to school for admission) he remembered that Dadu was born on Diwali, but did not remember which year, so he mistakenly remembered the Diwali of couple of earlier years and got the Oct 29 entered into the records as Dadu's birth date. Further, Dadu's mom was not sure that the actual date was Nov 13 or Nov 22 (Dadu was the eldest in home with 5 other siblings after him - so can't blame Dadu's mom to get little confused by the dates).
  So, essentially, the Birthday comes on the following fixed dates:
  * Oct 29
  * Nov 13
  * Nov 22
  and the floating date of Diwali each year.
  In US, we celebrated this year on Nov 16 because (I cant remember now) we could not for some reason - Bhavna's tennis elbow, Aakarsh sometime sleeping early, Diwali celebrations anyways on Diwali, Thurs as no egg day, etc. were some of the reasons which kept us away from celebrations earlier).
  




• 15: Bowling

  Cost - FREE (I had the coupon for free game upto 10 people).
  I had signed up as online member of AMF eClub in mid-October and so had a welcome coupon to take upto 10 people (including myself) to a free game of bowling in the first 30 days of membership (last day Nov 15). Earlier Manoj & Haresh had shown their interest in coming along (also Don Ryland had shown his interest), but whereas Manoj & Don never came back with solid plan, Haresh could not join at the last moment because of other commitments - so it ended up as my family only going for the free game - did we enjoy ? Yesssss - a lot !!!
  (But would have been more fun with couple of other friends along - may be next time)
